Bound in illustrated printed wrappers (subject's name provided in manuscript on upper wrapper); two metal clasps at head; advertisement on inner lower wrapper, "Character from photographs", has imprint: "S.R. Wells & Co., 753 Broadway, New York"; illustrated phrenological head, in profile, and "Names of the faculties", on lower outer wrapper.
